I was weaned on coffee, or what I thought at the time was coffee, but was really a glass of milk with a spoonful of coffee from my mother's mug.
Since then, I've sipped that magical morning brew in outdoor cafes in New York, Dallas, and San Francisco, warmed my hands on a steaming mug of it during a South Dakota blizzard, and breathed in the scent of espresso while watching rain fall in France.
Recently, I learned that there's a company called Green Beans Coffee that caters to American military personnel, and operates on and near military bases in Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan. I thought that was pretty cool.
I also thought it was an excellent idea for fiction. My dream is that if I can't run the first espresso bar on Mars, I can at least write about it.
As for this blog? Part fiction, part commentary. Pull up a chair, and fill your favorite mug.
